Place the bumblebee castle directly on the ground in the garden, with the entrance facing east. The bumblebee castle has a heavy bottom plate to protect from moisture. Place the included nesting wool in the castle. Please do not place the castle directly in the midday sun. Choose a shady spot that does not need to be changed so that the flies can find it easily in the future. Bumblebees memorize the location and keep coming back to it.
In the spring the queen seeks a suitable place for nesting, while flying very close to the ground. In the fall, the colony dies and the young queens need a winter home - the castle is perfect for them. The nesting wool keeps the bees warm and insulates the castle. If the nesting wool is consumed, lamb's wool or a similar material can be used.
