Der Autoluftreiniger gibt kein Ozon ab, er filtert es vielmehr aus der Innenraumluft, wenn Ozon an einem heißen Sommertag in der Umgebungsluft ist. Der Luftreiniger benötigt nur 12 Volt, das ist keine Belastung für eine normale Autobatterie. Man betreibt ihn außerdem nur in einem laufenden Auto. Permanent geöffnete Fenster beim Betrieb eines Autoluftreinigers sind nicht zu empfehlen, da er dann seine Wirkung nicht effizient entwickeln kann.
