The Allermed CA 35+ junior uses comparable filtering techniques to those that are used in operating rooms and high-tech cleanrooms: HEPA filtration and gas adsorption.

HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresting) filtration was originally developed by the American commission for nuclear energy to eliminate radioactive suspended particles. This device uses a genuine HEPA filter with an efficiency of 99.97% for particles the size of 0.3 micro meters (0.0003 mm). This particle size is so important because it is the hardest to eliminate. An important feature of the HEPA filter is the extremely high efficiency that only increases over time while electrostatic air purifiers lose efficiency over time. The Allermed CA 35+ junior contains a high amount of this precious HEPA filter medium to guarantee a long lasting, useful life.

Active carbon and mineral silicate - effective gas- and odour deposition
The HEPA device uses two gas-absorbing substances, active carbon and mineral silicate, for the effective deposition of a myriad of vaporous compounds and odours. The 4-step HEPA filtering system
The Allermed CA 35+junior with its four separate filtering steps is one of the most perfect air purifiers existing today.
Air that is filtered has to penetrate two pre-filters to remove larger particles such as fibers, heavy dust, and pollen. Then it streams through a thick, 3.5 cm layer of granular active carbon and mineral silicate to finally hit the densely folded suspended particle filter or HEPA filter.
